Church Cleaning – St Nicholas and St Machan

Since we no longer employ a cleaner, anyone who feels they could assist with the cleaning of our churches each week should give names and contact details to the church office – ( or speak to John Stewart or Myra Macpherson. This essential but satisfying task would require a maximum commitment from 2 people at a time of 2 hours per week, e.g. on a Friday morning. With several volunteers, a rota can be arranged meaning those willing would only be required every 2 or 3 weeks. All cleaning materials, and PPE are provided.

Thank you.

Wanted containers for flowers – If you have received containers from the church we would be pleased to recycle and reuse.  Please leave in either church.

Very many thanks, as always, to those who have been able to donate clothing, nappies, empty cans, etc for Ukrainian and Syrian refugees.  Please, please keep these coming as you are able and spread the word to family and friends.  I am always happy to collect either from church, Open Door café, or from a home.  (Phone no. 07546 087230).

Donations can be left in either church or in the Open Door as usual and I will collect from there.  At this time of year, we begin to think about our usual collection of Christmas gifts for these young adults – the only Christmas gift they are likely to receive.  This year, because of the increase in the number of young people we try to help, our target is to be able to offer gifts to at least 100 young folks, 50 girls and 50 boys.  Examples of what we have given in past years:   nice toiletry packs, small items of jewellery for the girls, a novelty of some sort for the boys, woolly hats, scarves, gloves, socks, boxed chocolates.  We would be delighted to receive whatever you are willing and able to offer.  As usual, these can be left in either church or at the Open Door for collection and wrapping.

Thank you.  Evelyn
