UKRAINE/SYRIA/GAZA

We have felt so incredibly grateful to everyone who has delivered so many helpful items of clothing, shoes, boots, nappies and – from our latest request – useful suitcases.  To date we have now given 14 suitcases, 616 clothes and shoe bags, and 720 packs of nappies.

Direct Aid have asked us if possible to stop the can collection as they are so inundated with cans that they do not have the volunteer capacity to crush these.  it was a brilliant idea and hugely appreciated, but they are simply too overloaded with the magnificent response.  Thank you to all those who have done their best to help here.

I noted previously that the containers had serious ‘administrative’ problems in passing through Beirut (held up for over 2 months with on-going costs at harbour.  The last consignment, you will be pleased to know, passed through Tripoli in less than a week and has now been distributed to the most needy refugees in Arsal.

Finally, you may be pleased to know that in March this year, as well as collecting clothing etc as always, Direct Aid was able delivered a truckload of food to Gaza.

Keep these things coming please, so long as you are willing and able to help.

My phone number for collections or information is 07546 087230. Evelyn McFadyen.

SOYA Thank you all once again for continuing the donations of food and toiletries for SOYA. These are a wonderful blessing for our young adults and Social Work are very happy to continue to distribute these as needed (which is always!). As usual, don’t hesitate to give me a call if you need any donations uplifted from your home. I am very happy to ask David to do so!! The number to call is 07546 087230. Evelyn McFadyen.
