Notices for Sunday 21 August 2022

This notice contains the information for the church service of 21 August 2022 at 10.30am in St. Machan Church, Ecclesmachan and important intimations.

Covid-restrictions: The recent changes to Covid-restrictions mean that it is no longer a requirement by law to wear face coverings for worship services. The Strathbrock Kirk Session, however, agreed to request people to keep wearing face-coverings for entering, moving about in, and exiting the church buildings to keep those most vulnerable safe. Once seated face-coverings may be removed. It will be up to an individual to decide whether to remove their face-coverings once seated. Hand sanitisers will be available at the doors.

The service will also be recorded for those who will not be able attend church, and will be made available on Youtube, Facebook and the website. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Hanneke on or 01506 206045 or your district elder, and we would be happy to assist you with any questions or queries.

Community News

  • Farewell to Rev. Georgina Nelson, the head of spiritual care in St John’s Hospital, who is retiring in the next two weeks.  She has served in this post for 27 years and has been a great support to the community of West Lothian.  We pray for a happy retirement.  Her successor is Rev Lynne MacMurchie.
  • Canon Jeremy Bath of St John’s Cantius and St Nicholas will be leaving after seven years of work in our community. We wish him well as he moves to St Machans Lennoxtown.  His successor is Father John Deighan from St Machans Lennoxtown – a straight swap! We pray for both of these men in a time of change for them.
