Prayer for this week:

Creator God, you made us all in your image: may we discern you in all that we see, and serve you in all that we do; As we rejoice in the gift of every new day, so may the light of your presence, O God, set our hearts on fire with love for you; now and for ever through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Travelling Well Bible Study: The next book we have elected to study is James – Faith that Works a Life Builder Study by AT and PJ Le Peau. “We all want a faith that won’t let us down in periods of trouble or loss or uncertainty or fear; a faith that can support us through the worst – and best – times in our lives.  This faith is the kind that James writes about and which, in nine studies, we explore here”. As a group we have been meeting on Wednesday evenings through the medium of Zoom and our new study will begin on 5th May. It will take the same form. If you would like to join us or would like a copy of the book to study as an individual please contact Rachel Shepherd on or by phone on 855293.

Go for a walk (of any length), cycle, jump on a trampoline or take the family on a scavenger hunt! The Kiltwalk is happening virtually all across Scotland from 23-25 April. Get moving for Christian Aid and The Hunter Foundation will increase your sponsorship by 50%! Sign up today and don’t forget to name Christian Aid as your chosen charity.  Get in touch if you have questions:

Ancre Somme Association: Ancre Somme Association hope to install a memorial to all animals lost in wars  and would like purple poppies to be knitted. Patterns are on Youtube and the deadline is August. With planning permission the memorial will be at bottom of Ecclesmachan Road. Further details from Mary Watson or Myra Macpherson.

Strathbrock Family Facebook Group: A new Facebook page, “strathbrockchurchfamily” has been set up.  It is a group for members or those with a connection to Strathbrock Parish Church to share news, highlight events, say thanks, ask for help, spread a little joy, and just help us to connect with each other.

It is an open page so anyone can view the page but only members can post things. If you would like to be a member simply go to your Facebook page and click on the Group button in the bar at the top of your page. This will open up a Group page which has a search box in the top left corner. Type in “strathbrockchurchfamily” and the page should be top of the list. Click on our group and when the page opens up click the Join Group button. To limit those with a genuine interest in our church you will be asked a simple question along with your request to join. Any problems contact

The official church announcements and services will still be found on the page ‘Strathbrock Parish Church’.
