Uphall South Sanctuary Refurbishment Project Update

Dear friends,

As you will be aware from the Newsletter sent out to you on 3 November 2022, at the Session Meeting held on 25 October 2022, Strathbrock Kirk Session agreed to contribute funds from the sale of the Strathbrock Church Hall to the Uphall South Sanctuary Refurbishment Project totalling £ 60,000.00. This figure we agreed at that time was based on a quote from the building contractors that was set at pre-Covid lockdown rates. However, given the reality of the rising costs of building materials and costs of labour, the previous quote of £ 120759.79 increased to £ 146559.79. The Kirk Session met this week and agreed to increase the Strathbrock contribution based on the current quote from the builders to an amount of £ 75,000.00 in order for building works to start in the upcoming couple of months. This investment we believe will be beneficial for our working closer together with Uphall South and to be able to use the newly refurbished multi-purpose building for events and meetings. This is part of our Partnership Agreement with Uphall South. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact your elder, or myself on or 01506206034.

With all good wishes,
